Right and duty to raise concerns

The Working Environment Act gives you both a right to raise concerns and, under certain circumstances, also a duty to report.

Right to raise concerns

The Working Environment Act gives you the right to report censurable conditions. The Act offers you protection against retaliation from UiO, and requires that UiO make whistleblowing possible. The rules of the Working Environment Act apply to all employment situations.

Duty to report

Are you on the staff, and have discovered harassment, discrimination and faults or deficiencies that may constitute a threat to life or health? According to the Working Environment Act, you then have a duty to speak out to your employer or to the safety representati.

The duty to speak out may also be laid down in other acts, regulations or agreements.
