Lectures
- 10:15: Lecture by the winners of the 2012 UiO Science Communication Award in Auditorium 1, Helga Engs hus
“When the field of research is on fire: Middle Eastern research and the Arabian spring” by Professor Bjørn Olav Utvik. - 10:15: The 2012 Kristine Bonnevie Lecture in Auditorium 1, Georg Sverdrups hus
“Genes, evolution, and the origins of social behavior” by Professor Cori Bargmann.
Introduction by popular science writer Carl Zimmer.
Cake and concert
Serving of cake, followed by Cultural Lunch at Frederikkeplassen from 11.45 am
Ceremony
Ceremony and presentation of four prestigious UiO awards and His Majesty the King’s Gold Medals at the University Ceremonial Hall at 2 pm.
Celebration for UiO staff
Celebration for all members of staff at Chateau Neuf, starting 6 pm.
Concerts at Chateau Neuf for UiO students and staff
