Barroso questioned by Erasmus students

Yesterday, Nobel Peace Prize laureate José Manuel Barroso visited the University of Oslo for an hour of conversation with students. The event was broadcasted live on Euronews.

On the day after receiving the Nobel Peace Prize 2012, President of the EU Commission José Manuel Barroso took the time to visit the University of Oslo to engage with Erasmus students.

At 12 O’clock sharp Barroso entered the UiO’s Old Ceremonial Hall, where he was greeted by Pro-Rector Inga Bostad and Euronews reporter Isabelle Kumar who hosted the global conversation event.

Touching upon subjects such as the expansion of the EU and its role in promoting peace, democracy and stability as well as the threats of extremism and xenophobia, Barroso was clearly at ease, talking to students who had prepared a number of questions for the Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
