Labour dispute at UiO

There is a labour dispute in the Norwegian public sector, which also affects the University of Oslo. 400 UiO employees from labour organizations LO Stat, YS Stat and Unio are currently on strike.

Approximately 400 UiO employees are on strike. The strike mainly affects the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Educational Sciences, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the University of Oslo Library, the Center for Information Technology (USIT) and the Central Administration.

Dental students affected

Due to the strike at the Faculty of Dentistry, all clinical education classes have been cancelled. This affects approximately 250 students.

The Faculty clinic treats some 450 patients daily. During the strike, there will be no ordinary treatment of patients. The clinic will only attend to emergency cases and patients who are already in treatment.

Should the strike persist, it may also affect the graduation exams of dental students.

Students at the Faculty of Educational Sciences

Approximately 120 staff at the Faculty of Educational Scences are on strike as of 25 May. For questions about how this will affect students, please contact the Faculty information services

Show up for exams

Candidates should show up for scheduled exams as usual, unless they have been told otherwise by their Faculty. Students may contact their local student info centre for further information.
