Ottersen wins rectorial election

The University Election Board today announced that incumbent Rector Ole Petter Ottersen and his team have been re-elected for four more years.

Professor Ottersen and his team, consisting of Pro-Rector Ruth Vatvedt Fjeld and Vice-Rector Ragnhild Hennum got 71 per cent of the votes. Opposing candidate Torkil Vederhus and his team received 29 per cent. Voter participation was 20 per cent.
 

Distribution of votes

Ole Petter Ottersen:

  • Students: 41.6 per cent (1466 votes)
  • Scientific staff: 85 per cent (1347 votes)
  • Technical/administration staff: 70.9 per cent (805 votes)
  • Total: 71 per cent

Torkil Vederhus:

  • Students: 58.3 per cent (2050 votes)
  • Scientific staff: 15 per cent (239 votes)
  • Technical/administration staff: 29.1 per cent(330 votes)
  • Total: 29 per cent

Poll/ voter participation

  • Students: 14 per cent
  • Scientific staff: 46 per cent
  • Technical/administration staff: 47 per cent
  • Total: 20 per cent
