Researcher housing at UiO
Are you an international researcher planing a research stay at UiO and in search of a place to live? Then you may ask your host department to apply for one of UiO's researcher housing units for you.
Note: Inquire about researcher housing as early as possible as the demand by far exceeds the number of available housing units!

Conditions
Researcher housing at UiO is offered under the following conditions:
- In order to qualify for researcher housing, you must be an international researcher affiliated with UiO, i.e. an academic at Ph.D.-level or above who shall move or recently has moved to Norway from abroad to carry out research at UiO.
- Applications for researcher housing must be made by the host department on behalf of the interested researcher. Note: For legal reasons, direct inquires from researchers cannot be processed.
- There are 12 bedsits for short-term stays (1-8 weeks) and 47 apartments for long-term stays (2 months - 1 year) available.
- All housing units are fully furnished and equipped with bedding, bedlinen, towels, service, cutlery, and kitchen utensils.
- All housing units either have their own washing machine or access to a common laundry room.
- The rent includes electricity and in most places also internet and cabel TV fees.
- Tentants do not pay a deposit.
- All housing units are non-smoking areas.
- Animals may not be kept in the housing units.
- Administration and maintenance of the housing units is managed by UiO.
