The Internationalisation Year will focus on the challenges posed by mobility and view them in a long term perspective.
The University of Oslo will foster mobility amongst students, research fellows and permanently employed research staff. It will focus both on incoming and outgoing mobility and it will specifically identify obstacles and address hindrances to mobility.
Professional internationalisation
Another important theme for the internationalisation year is the further development of the University of Oslo’s professional expertise and capacity for internationalisation. The action plan for internationalisation adopted by the University Board in June 2011 includes a target-oriented recruitment policy which aims at actively increasing the degree of international staff recruitment.
The University of Oslo’s personnel policy shall include an international focus, ensuring the interests of all groups of employees, providing good opportunities for professional and academic development and giving high priority to both working and learning environments.
High profile internationalisation
The internationalization year 2012 aims at ensuring greater visibility and heightening the profile of the university’s ongoing internationalisation work for employees, students and the outside world. There will be a series of events which will be published regularly on the University of Oslo’s forthcoming website for the Internationalisation Year.
