Jazz is a music form that has existed for 100 years. This may be considered a young music genre compared to what we associate with classical music. The main element in jazz is spontaneous improvisation.
Brinck-Johnsen Quintet is a jazz quintet that is rooted in the mainstream that developed in the fifties (Bebop) with Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins and John Coltrane.
Unikor is the University of Oslo's own choir, made up of its musically interested and talented employees. The choir's repetoire meanders between modern and classical music traditions, and there is always room for some jazz tones and popular musical elements.

Lucy Riley and Monica Tomescu-Rohde are both talented freelance musicians. In June they present an exciting concert for saxophone and piano in the courtyard of the University Manor at Tøyen (Tøyen Hovedgård).
