The new communication system supplies voice communication using a physical phone, as in traditional telephony, but it also includes voice communication via a soft phone application, a program installed on the computer you use. The communication system can be customized via ukomm.
UiOs new platform for voice- and other forms of communication supports traditional phone services for now. It is, however built to be much more than this, and new services will be added. Among other things, the platform will support soft phones as an alternative to physical phones, it will be integrated with search services and it will in general be more integrated with other applications. Notably, the new platform will be more flexible, and the user will be able to customize and administrate their own choices of settings.
