Apply for recognition of previous education
If you have a previous education from UiO or some other institution, you can apply for its recognition and for credit transfer to your current programme of study. Both Norwegian and non-Norwegian education can be recognized.
After receiving the application the university will conduct an academic assessment of whether or not your previous education can be recognized. Education acquired in Norway will usually be recognized on the basis of the nominal length of the study. Different rules may apply for education acquired in a foreign country.
Every study programme has a different structure and recognition possibilities will vary accordingly. Previous education that does not fit within the framework of the programme may not be fully recognized.
