Admission to Master's studies in Humanities or Theology

Admission to our Master's degree programmes at the Faculty of Humanities and the Faculty of Theology is coordinated through a central admission.

 If you do not have a Norwegian ID number and a permanent or renewable residence permit in Norway, please refer to the website with information for International Master's degree applicants.   

How to apply

15 April: Extended application deadline and deadline to upload all required documents

For the 2014 admission the deadline will be 1 March. 

  1. Apply online in UiO's application system - Søknadsweb, by logging in with your Norwegian ID number. Choose Master's degree studies, and then Master studies in Humanities or Theology

  2. Register an application for your preferred programme/study option. You can apply for upto three prioritized programmes/study options.

  3. Upload the required supporting documents

13 May: Early offers of admission are published

On 13 May, some programmes will be able to guarantee admission to selected applicants. Please note that even if you get an early offer of admission you have to wait until the regular offers are published (8 July) before you accept or decline.

1 July: Uploading final documentation

1 July is the deadline to upload documentation of studies completed in the spring of 2013.

8 July: Regular offers of admission are published

The result of your application will be published in Søknadsweb. Please note that even if you have applied for more than one programme/study option, you will only be offered admission to one.

5 August: Deadline to respond to offer

This is the deadline to accept or decline the offer of admission, in Søknadsweb.
