Orientation Week for new students

The Orientation Week for Autumn 2013 starts Monday 12 August.

All new students will receive information about the Orientation Week in their Welcome packets, upon arrival.

Monday 12 August
*Meet your Buddy Group
*10:00-15:00 Collect your Welcome Packet in Knutepunktet, Lucy Smiths hus
*15:00 Welcome Ceremony, Universitetsplassen Karl Johans gate 47

Tuesdag 13 August
*10:00-12:00 Group Orientation meeting EU-exchange students, Sophus Lie Hus 
*Activities with your Buddy Group

Wednesday 14 August
*10:00-12:00 Orientation meeting Norwegian language courses, Georg Sverdrups hus Auditorium 1
*10:00-12:00 Group Orientation meeting for Quota Scheme students, Georg Sverdrups hus Auditorium 2
*12:00-14:00 Group Orientation meeting for Master's Degree students, Helga Engs hus Auditorium 1
*12:00-14:00 Group Orientation meeting for Bachelor's Degree students, Georg Sverdrups hus Auditorium 2
*14:00-16:00 Group Orientation meeting for NON-EU exchange students, Sophus Lie hus
Group Orientation meetings for the student groups NOMA, EURASIA, and Fulbright (time and place to be announced)
*Collect money from the SiO deposit account (applies only to students who have transferred money in connection with visa applications)

Thursday 15 August

Information meetings at the faculties (if applicable, see individual information sent by e-mail or in the Welcome Packet)
12:00-14:00 Registration help session, Sophus Bugges hus
14:00-16:00 Registration help session for the Norwegian Language courses

Friday 16 August
*Activities with your Buddy Group
16:00-18:00 Coffee Hour, Chateau Neuf

Saturday 17 August
09:00-12:00 Registration with the Police for NON-EU students

Monday 19 August

*Special Events Information meeting (time and place to be announced)
*Collect money from the SiO deposit account (applies only to students who have transferred money in connection with visa applications)

Tuesday 20/Wednesday 21 August
12:00-15:00 EU students can submit documentation required for registration with the Police. Please hand in copies of a valid EU-health card and ID
 and a print-out of the front page from the self service UDI registration portal as proof that you have registered.
**"How to be a Norwegian"- meet the many student socities at UiO (time and place to be announced)

Friday 23 August
*Information Meeting about part-time work with the Tax Office and the Career Center (tme and place to be announced)
*Collect money from the SiO deposit account (applies only to students who have transferred money in connection with visa applications)


Sunday 1 September

Last day to pay the semester fee and register for courses
