Programme structure

The programme option Applied Mathematics and Risk Analysis is built around a Master's thesis, which is an independent scientific research work of 60 ECTS credits, and six courses with a total of 60 ECTS credits.

Mandatory Courses

Select two of the following courses:

  • IN4210  High-Performance Computing and Numerical projects
  • FYS-MAT4155 Data Analysis and Machine Learning
  • MAT-IN3110  Mathematical modeling in Science

 

In case you have already taken these courses, or courses with an equivalent content, you may be exempted from these requirements and replace the above mandatory courses with various elective courses. We always recommend conferring with your contact person(s) about which courses to include as part of your Master's thesis.
