Application process for Nordic citizens and applicants with a permanent residence in Norway
Admission for the Master's degree programme in Economics is once a year (deadline 1 June) with studies starting in August.
Formal requirements
In order to be a qualified applicant you have to meet the academic requirements in Economics, have a bachelor’s degree, meet the English language requirements, as well as the general requirements found under How to apply.

The application process
You must submit the application electronically in SøknadsWeb which opens approximately 6 weeks prior to the application deadline. In addition to submitting the electronic application you have to document that you have a bachelor’s degree and that you full fill the academic minimum requirements in Economics and in English.
If you meet the admission requirements for several master's programmes at the Faculty of Social Sciences you can prioritise up to three programmes in Søknadsweb. Your applications will be processed in the order of priority you have set. You can changed the order of priority in Søknadsweb at any time before the application deadline 1 June.

Applicants with a bachelor’s degree from UiO
Certified copies of Norwegian upper secondary school (vitnemål fra videregåendeskole), or other documentation that you full fill the English requirement has to be submitted by June 1.
Applicants with a bachelor’s degree from another institution
- Certified copies of your Norwegian certificate of upper secondary education (vitnemål fra videregående skole), or other documentation that you full fill the English language requirement
- a)Certified copies of your bachelor’s degree
b) If you complete your bachelor’s degree diploma during the spring semester:
- Certified copies of your transcript of records
- A list of the courses in Economics for which you are still awaiting examination results with the dates these results will be available. You have to document these results as soon as possible by sending us your bachelor’s degree diploma, or a new transcript of records including the course(s) you have passed during the spring semester. The deadline for this is: July 1. If you are unable to meet this deadline you must inform us immediately, otherwise your application will not be processed. - If you meet the academic requirements listed under “How to apply” (same as e) under Beregningsgrunnlag) you must in addition to point 1 and 2 submit:
- The form List of academic requirements so that the admission committee has the necessary information in order to evaluate your education.
