Examples of fields of work are technologically advanced engineering companies, oil companies, research institutions, IT-companies, activities aimed toward medical research, administration and teaching.

If you want to teach, you need to have Praktisk-pedagogisk utdanning (in Norwegian).

Research training

The master's degree can open the road to a carrier in research through a PhD-study in natural sciences at the University of Oslo or at another Norwegian or foreign university. The most usual way to fund a PhD is a stipend from the university or from the research council, there are also national and international projects that distribute stipends.
