Programme structure

The study programme consists of 60 ECTS credits of theoretical curriculum and a master's thesis of 60 ECTS. Please see the programme for general structure and requirements.

This programme option has two specializations

  • Nuclear and energy physics
  • High energy physics

Mandatory course:

FYS4505 – Methods and Instrumentation for Nuclear and Particle Physics

The course consists of one common module, and one of two separate modules, one for high energy physics students and one for nuclear and energy physics students.

Numerical calculations are an important part of our research. The following courses will therefore be useful when working on your master's thesis.
