Applicants who have not previously matriculated at the University of Oslo must, in addition, submit a Basic Qualifications Registration Form (English version), or Skjema for studiekompetanse (Norwegian version). 

If you are not a Norwegian citizen please submit an officially certified copy of those pages of your passport showing photo, identification, residence permit stamp for Norway and proof of name change (if applicable).

CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION:

1.  A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum grade of C or the equivalent      

2. Knowledge of English documented by Basic English from Upper Secondary School (videregående), minimum grade 4 (Norwegian grading system) or one of the following or equivalent:

   1. TOEFL examination with a minimum score of 550 (213 computer-based, 80 internet-based)

   2. IELTS examination with a minimum score of band 6

3. A short statement of purpose showing your motivation, research interests and relevant professional practice should be included with your application.
