Instructional format and evaluations
Courses at the ISS are taught in a manner that reflects the ISS objectives of cultivating intercultural understanding and learning in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
Our perspective on learning and education invites a format of instruction based on interaction and mutual learning between students and teachers, and course leaders are encouraged to facilitate active student participation in their courses.
Course leaders for graduate courses are recommended to set aside time to supervise students in writing papers. Course leaders should encourage students to form study groups (colloquiums).
The ISS collects course and programme evaluations from both students and faculty. Links to evaluation forms are sent by email to each student and faculty member in the last week of the ISS.
