Nordmarka (The Northern Forest) is a favorite escape for many of Oslo's inhabitants. These public areas are ideal for hiking, swimming, camping and overnight stays in a cabin.

Where: We will start at Sognsvann and walk for about 3.5 hours.
Metro Ticket: To avoid delays, please remember to purchase your ticket for the metro (t-bane) ride before you meet up at Blindern station.
Meeting place: Blindern Dormitory. We will meet outside the main building at 10:45 and ride metro line (t-bane) no. 3 from Blindern Station to Sognsvann.
Bring along: Solid shoes (preferably hiking boots; if not available, solid jogging shoes), rain gear if the weather looks unstable, swimming outfit and a towel if it is warm and sunny (but be aware that the water may be cold), picnic food including something to drink as it won’t be possible to buy food on the hike, and good cheer!
