Developing net-based learning resources for educational leaders
Challenges of design

Abstract
E-learning is often seen as a stimulus for better learning. However, the use of digital tools in itself promotes neither «good» nor «bad» learning – it all depends on how the resources are designed and used. Based on our experiences as novices of design activity, we will discuss a complex process of designing digital resources to be used in a master programme for educational leaders. One vital problem concerns the relevance of using traditional didactic models in the design of ICT- based learning trajectories. In the paper, we have constructed a narrative based on our experiences. This narrative is used as a backdrop for describing the gradual development of an alternative model, based on Activity Theory. This new didactic approach allowed us to be more attentive of the dynamic relationship between the warranted activities, the tools afforded, the community of learners and the intended outcomes.
