Net-based learning materials for Portuguese language training
Satisfied, well prepared students
Kåre Nilsson and Marcin Wlodek
Summary
The authors of this article carried out a project on flexible learning for Portuguese during the autumn of 2005 and spring of 2006. The project work consists of 39 chapters altogether, constituting 400 pages of PowerPoint presentations. Marcin Wlodek is mainly responsible for the practical design of the course content while Kåre Nilsson has been in charge of the project and has advised on specialist pedagogic content.
This form of presentation has clear pedagogical advantages and also uses fewer resources. Students can access and retrieve material online at any time, they avoid dividing their attention during lectures when making notes, and the teacher does not need to waste time writing on the board. In addition students gain access to an innovative and complete language learning tool, tailor-made for their needs.
This new, digitally accessible learning option has been under a continuous process of evaluation by students in the target group. Adjustments have been made during the development process on the basis of the feedback received, which has been unreservedly positive.
