Kultrans-stipendiaten Bodhisattva Chattopadhyay har bidratt med en helt ny artikkel i The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction (2013): "Bengal". Allerede da førsteutgaven av dette oppslagsverket utkom i 1979, utropte Isaac Asimov det til "the Bible for all science fiction fans".

Styret for Ludvig Holbergs minnefond har besluttet å tildele Holbergs Internasjonale minnepris 2013 til antropolog og sosiolog Bruno Latour. Kultrans gratulerer Latour som underviste på vårt ph.d.-kurs Writing nature høsten 2012. Kristin Asdal (TIK) kan kontaktes ved spørsmål om Latours forfatterskap.

Kultrans-stipendiat Rana Issa ble i 2011 tildelt et Ibsen-stipend sammen med Ahmad Gossein og Helle Siljeholm. Prispengene har finansiert en teaterfestival i Beirut 3.-13. januar 2013: Orient the day.
