Aktuelt om Kultrans

Åpent seminar (27.02.12): Stortinget skal i år ta stilling til et forslag om språklig fornyelse av Grunnloven. Finn-Erik Vinje, som i forslaget har oversatt Grunnloven til moderne norsk, innleder på et seminar i regi av Kultrans-prosjektet Textualizing Democracy.

Prosjektnytt (07.02.12): Forskningsrådets nye satsning SAMKUL har delt ut midler til nettverk og møteplasser. Kultrans nådde opp i konkurransen og får finansiert en workhop 14. og 15. mai i år: Tidsregimer i konflikt - i vitenskap og politikk. Seminaret blir startskuddet for et nytt tverrgående tema i Kultrans, slik vår nye programplan 2012-2013 legger opp til.

(Nytt 24.01.12) Seminarserie i regi av Naturen og det naturlige 2012: Det er ikke bare naturvitere som studerer, analyserer og skriver om natur. Det gjør også forskere innenfor samfunnsvitenskapelige og humanistiske disipliner. Men hvordan gjøres det? Hvordan bringes natur – ulike former for natur – inn i våre analyser, på ulike måter, innenfor våre ulike disipliner og forskningstradisjoner? Hvilke teoretiske, litterære og empiriske ressurser trekker vi på? Hva er våre inspirasjonskilder og hvilke problemer og utfordringer er det vi støter på og forsøker å løse?  

International workshop (12-13.03.12): What makes a king a king? "Divine right" was long the obvious answer, and the cult of royal glory its major cultural expression. In all its excesses and exuberance this cult is among the cultural practices of the early modern period which is the most alien, most difficult for us to comprehend.

Nature and the natural seminar (14.03.12): Natural scientists are not the only scholars studying, analysing and writing about nature: So do also scholars within the disciplines of the social sciences and the humanities. But how is this done? "Writing nature" is the topic for this spring's seminar series organised by the Kultrans research group Nature and the Natural. Representatives from various disciplines are invited to present and discuss with us. This Thursday the turn has come to science and technology studies (STS).

Conference, Oslo, September 12-14 2012: Is academia becoming interdisciplinary? Or do disciplines still condition our research and teaching in profound ways? Is disciplinarity perhaps even an inherent operative mode of modern academia? If so, how and to what extent should our institutions provide for interdisciplinarity? Read the call for papers. Deadline: March 15.

Naturen og det naturlige (28.03.12): - Er det mulig for villaks og oppdrettslaks å dele marine ressurser langs norskekysten på en måte som ikke undergraver livsbetingelsene for noen? - Hva skal til for at dette skal lykkes? - Hvordan kan vi lære av hverandre? Forskningsprosjektet Newcomers to the farm; Atlantic Salmon between the Wild and the Industrial inviterer til debatt på Litteraturhuset.

Seminar series "Writing nature" (25.04.12): With professor Harriet Ritvo, Massachusetts Institute of Technology: Making Space for Animals.

Workshop, Nature and the natural (30.01.12): The purpose of this workshop is to investigate the rhetoric that reaches beyond the human sphere. If humans are perhaps the only species capable of rhetoric, they are certainly not the only species affected by it. In fact, rhetoric creates the space within which our everyday practices with other beings take place. Rhetoric thus connects the philosophical "question of the animal" with our everyday interactions with animals; in both cases, the salient issue is that – and how – words and other rhetorical means have consequences.

Museologisk lunsj (15.02.12): Kan de samiske museenes utstillinger ses som et forsøk på underminere majoritetssamfunnets tids- og historieforståelse ved hjelp av estetikk og kunst? Kunsthistoriker Sigrid Lien og antropolog Hilde Nielsen (Universitetet i Bergen) presenterer arbeid fra prosjektet PhotoClec - om fotografier, kolonialisme og museer i dagens Europa.
