GEG1240 – Maps and geodata
Schedule, syllabus and examination date
An introduction to cartography, remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS). Emphasis is put on practical exercises regarding e.g. airphotos, geomorphologic, geologic, and resources mapping.
You will learn the fundamental concepts of cartography and coordinate systems as a basis for treatment of geographic information. You will be able to process digital geographic data and perform simple analyses. You also get an introduction to remote sensing techniques for resources mapping. The course gives you a foundation for interpreting geologic and geomorphologic maps.
