INF2100 - Programming project

Course content

The core of the subject is a major programming task to be solved in small groups.

Learning outcomes

After finishing the course you will:

• be able to understand how a computer is constructed from the basic circuit elements to high-level principles.
• receive practical training in programming computers at the machine level.

Prerequisites

Formal prerequisites

INF1010 - Object oriented programming/INF101.

In addition to fulfilling the Higher Education Entrance Qualification, applicants have to meet the following special admission requirements:

• Mathematics R1 or Mathematics (S1+S2)

The special admission requirements may also be covered by equivalent studies from Norwegian upper secondary school or by other equivalent studies. Read more about special admission requirements.

Overlap

6 credits INF 111/IN 102.

Teaching

2 hours of lectures and 4 hours of tuition each week. Several mandatory problems must be completed during the course. Rules for mandatory assignments.

Exam information

Acceptance of mandatory assignments solved individually or in groups of two. All assignments must be accepted. The students can be examinated in the problems. General information about examination.

Assessment and grading

Students are awarded either a passing or a failing grade. Read more about the grading system .

An external auditor regularly evaluates the academic quality of the course, including the form of exam used on the course.

Possibility of make-up exams and re-takes

This subject does not offer new examination in the beginning of the subsequent term for candidates who withdraw during an ordinary examination or fail an ordinary examination. For general information

Withdrawing from exams and limits on re-takes

A student can sit for this exam up to 3 times. If a student wishes to withdraw from the exam, s/he must do this in StudentWeb at least two weeks prior to the first day of the exam. Failure to do so will be counted as one of the three opportunities to sit for the exam.

Evaluation of this course
