INF4240 - Informatics didactics

Course content
Basic theories of learning and didactics. Learning, teaching and guidance of basic informatics, like programming, algorithms, basic software, data- and object-oriented modeling and system development. User training. Use of tools. Distance learning by means of IT. Educational change.
Learning outcomes
The subject aims at giving the students an understanding of learning of informatics and providing practical teaching skills. This will be useful for everybody who will teach and guide students, pupils or colleagues during their career. The subject also aims at providing insight in how user training can be organized and carried out, which is an activity that constitutes an important part of system development.

Prerequisites
Recommended prior knowledge
One year informatics study
Overlap
9 credits with INF-DID-N and 6 credits with INF-DID.
Teaching
45 hours of teaching. One compulsory, oral presentation.
Exam information
One written deliverable based on the students' own empirical study must be submitted. This task can be carried out by one, two or three students. The exam consists of the deliverable and an individual oral or written exam. Graded marks (A - F). The mark given to the deliverable counts 50% of the total mark. The exam is valid only if both partial exams have been passed. Both partial exams must be passed in the same semester.
Possibility of make-up exams and re-takes
This subject does not offer new examination in the beginning of the subsequent term for candidates who withdraw during an ordinary examination or fail an ordinary examination. Other information
Note that the first lecture is compulsory. The subject is regarded equal to INF-DID-N and INF3240 when practicing exam regulations.
