Course content
The research topic can be from all areas of Informatics.
Learning outcomes
The student gets an introduction to the chosen research topic and must become familiar to relevant literature, carry out a short project and report his or her findings.
Admission
The research topic must be initiated by the department/supervisor. The subject is for master students only.

The examination in this course is not available for external candidates. Only students admitted to the course may sit for the examination.
Prerequisites
No obligatory prerequisites beyond the minimum requirements for entrance to higher education in Norway.
Teaching
The duration of the course is one semester. The study is based on individual work and supervised by one or more supervisors (internal/external).

Oral or written examination (as agreed with supervisor) at the end of the semester. General information about the examination.
Assessment and grading
Students are awarded either a passing or a failing grade. Read more about the grading system .
Possibility of make-up exams and re-takes
This subject does not offer new examination in the beginning of the subsequent term for candidates who withdraw during an ordinary examination or fail an ordinary examination. Withdrawing from exams and limits on re-takes
A student can sit for this exam up to 3 times. If a student wishes to withdraw from the exam, s/he must do this in StudentWeb at least two weeks prior to the first day of the exam. Failure to do so will be counted as one of the three opportunities to sit for the exam.
