Course content

  • Data Stream management
  • Network topology and network management
  • Ad hoc networking, sensor networks
  • Application level multicast

  • Research oriented course that takes up important and very recent topics
  • Lectured by recognized international experts in the field
  • Getting personal contact to lecturers from which students normally would only read papers and books
  • Learning about project management and team work in an international team
  • Can get an idea what international research could be (for later decission whether to join a PhD programme)

Admission

Prerequisites

No obligatory prerequisites beyond the minimum requirements for entrance to higher education in Norway.

Teaching

Each institution will give at all the other institutions one lecture (2 to 3 hours). Each lecture will be recorded, stored and shipped to the other institutions.

Lab-project (including final report and presentation) 50% and oral exam 50%. General information about the examination.

No special exam resources are allowed.

Assessment and grading

Course grades are awarded on a descending scale using alphabetic grades from A to E for passes and F for fail. Read more about the grading system .

The Course Auditor is Pål Knudsen.

An external auditor regularly evaluates the academic quality of the course, including the form of exam used on the course.

Possibility of make-up exams and re-takes

This subject does not offer new examination in the beginning of the subsequent term for candidates who withdraw during an ordinary examination or fail an ordinary examination. Withdrawing from exams and limits on re-takes

A student can sit for this exam up to 3 times. If a student wishes to withdraw from the exam, s/he must do this in StudentWeb at least two weeks prior to the first day of the exam. Failure to do so will be counted as one of the three opportunities to sit for the exam.
