Course content
Methodologies, frameworks, and tools, with an emphasis on modular web development (e.g. Spring, Hibernate, WebWork, Maven, Eclipse).
Learning outcomes
Being able to approach and apply advanced frameworks and tools in a real project.

Teaching
The course explores free and open source software, partly through lectures, but mainly through active participation (programming) in real contexts. Student groups will work throughout in a project setting, and link up with international partners (e.g. in Asia or Africa) for distributed development of open source applications.
Exam information
Project-work, deliverables and written report. All parts must be passed. General information about the examination.
Assessment and grading
Students are awarded either a passing or a failing grade. Read more about the grading system .
Possibility of make-up exams and re-takes
This subject does not offer new examination in the beginning of the subsequent term for candidates who withdraw during an ordinary examination or fail an ordinary examination. Withdrawing from exams and limits on re-takes
A student can sit for this exam up to 3 times. If a student wishes to withdraw from the exam, s/he must do this in StudentWeb at least two weeks prior to the first day of the exam. Failure to do so will be counted as one of the three opportunities to sit for the exam.
