Course content

The aim of this course is to provide an introduction to basic proteomics techniques.

Learning outcomes

Basic knowledge about analytical proteomics, quantitative proteomics, proteomics data analysis, post-translational modifications and protein-protein interaction and applied proteomics (cell death proteomics and clinical proteomics). Practical knowledge of these types of techniques: Tryptic digestion of proteins and micropurifications, MALDI-mass spectrometry, LC-ESI-mass spectrometry, data analysis (Mascot), De novo Sequencing.

Admission

If the course is part of the approved plan for your Ph.D.-programme at the MN Faculty, UiO, please contact the study administration at your Department for registration.

If you have been admitted to a Ph.D.-programme at an alternative Faculty or learning institution, and the course enters into the approved training part of the Ph.D.-programme there, you must within a given deadline apply for the status as visiting student.

This course is a BIOSTRUCT course, a National PhD course arranged by the Biotehnology Centre of Oslo in collaboration with Department of Chemistry, as a part of the Norwegian Graduate school in Structural Biology. Max no. of students is 8, and 6 of these places are reserved BIOSTRUCT PhD students

The examination in this course is not available for external candidates. Only students admitted to the course may sit for the examination.
