27.05.2011: Mandatory seminar for all students
During the third or fourth semester of the master's program, students will have to participate in a mandatory seminar focusing on the writing process and evaluating the work on the thesis so far. Further information about the seminar is given at the start of the semester, cf. the semester website. The Freedom of Expression Foundation (Institusjonen Fritt Ord) announces three scholarships (NOK 25.000) for master students in Media Studies at the Department of Media and Communication, University of Oslo.The scholarships can be awarded students at the Department of Media and Communication (IMK), writing a master's thesis on topics concerning the conditions for freedom of expression. Projects dealing directly with such topics will be given priority. Apart from this, there are no constraints on the choice of subject.The application should contain a brief application text (1 page), your master thesis project description, CV, and transcript of grades (university level). Application language: English or Norwegian.If the project requires fieldwork or other elements that may cause specific expenses for the applicant, a simple budget should also be included. The application should also specify other economic support (scholarships/ grants) received in relation to the master thesis. Please note: Qualifying for the scholarship requires that your master thesis project description is approved.
