As illustrated in the figure above, during the three-year period 2013-2015, Physics and Astronomy alone counted for over 50 % of all co-authorships with South Africa. When excluding group authorships (articles with more than 100 co-authors), Life Sciences and especially Medicine are other major areas of co-publication.
