This is what we know now, at 3.30 pm:

  • The government has introduced strict measures to prevent infection from the corona virus (regjeringen.no) (Norwegian). Among other measures, they say that universities and colleges should close from today at 6 pm. The University of Oslo will therefore close its buildings for both students and staff in the period leading up to Easter. This will also include exams in Silurveien.
  • We ask staff and students to take home relevant items in order to work and study from home. UiO will maintain its emergency preparedness management structure and publish information uio.no about the consequences of the measures.
  • We will ensure that those who are not able to get their work and study-related items will be let into the buildings to retrieve them later.
  • All exams in Silurveien are cancelled until Easter. We are working to put alternative forms of assessment for exams in place that can replace physical attendance in Silurveien.
