Afghanistan - finding a way forward.

The Nobel Peace Prize Forum 2022 will focus on how to find a way forward for Afghanistan. After the withdrawal of international troops last year and more than a year under the Taliban, the freedom and basic human rights of the Afghan people, especially women, continue to deteriorate.

The Nobel Peace Prize Forum will also address the crucial question of whether and how the West should engage with the Taliban.

  • Anniken Huitfeldt – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Norway
  • Zarifa Ghafari – Afghan activist and politician, former mayor

  • Peter Jouvenal – Afghanistan expert and former reporter
  • Åsne Seierstad – Journalist and author
  • Olav Njølstad – Director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute
