Svein Stølen elected new rector at the University of Oslo

With 54,84 per cent of the votes, Professor Svein Stølen was today elected new rector at the University of Oslo.

Stølen was elected along with Pro-Rector candidate Gro Bjørnerud Mo, professor at the Department of Literature, Area Studies and European Languages. Vice-Rectors will Per Morten Sandset, Professor at the Institute of Clinical Medicine and Åse Gornitzka, Professor at the Department of Political Science.

Stølen and his team will take office August 1st 2017. Ole Petter Ottersen is the University of Oslo’s rector to this date, along with Pro-Rector Ragnhild Hennum and Vice-Rector Knut Fægri.
