eInfrastructure

Electronic infrastructure (eInfrastructure) consists of tools and services for most disciplines, but is particularly important for research that requires complex calculations or generates large amounts of data. eInfrastructure also includes digital registers and databases. Climate research, biology, bioinformatics, medicine, chemistry, physics, material science, energy research and linguistics are examples of different disciplines that all use e-Infrastructure.

eInfrastructure covers basic services that are used in most disciplines and constitutes a foundation for many other research infrastructures. eInfrastructure is particularly important for research that requires complex calculations or generates large amounts of data through simulation and analysis, such as climate research, biology, bioinformatics, medicine, chemistry, physics, material science, energy research and linguistics. Sensitive data must also be able to be handled in a good way.
