Laws and regulations
There are significant national and international regulations with requirements to data management. In particular, there are issues related to personal privacy and copyright. Any project that falls under the Health Research Act, the Personal Data Act, the Health Registry Act, or the Biotechnology Act is subject to special requirements. Copyright issues relate to who owns research data, the contents of existing databases, and new databases that are partially or completely based on existing databases.
