Get started in the HR portal

The HR portal is the University of Oslo's electronic personnel administration service. Here, employees access their salary information, record working hours, apply for holidays, register sick leave and other types of absence and file travel and outlay reimbursement claims.

Login

  • Using your internet browser, go to the login page for the HR portal. Web browsers supported by the HR portal are Internet Explorer (IE) and Mozilla Firefox.
  • If you are logged in on a computer on the UiO network, you will be automatically logged in on the HR-portal when you open the login page.
  • If you are not logged in on the UiO network, use your UiO user name and password to log in.
  • Experiencing problems with log-in or the portal's performance? Have a look at the guide for technical issues or contact your local IT Office (Norwegian).
  • To change language to English, select Personalize in the top right corner in the HR portal and follow the steps in this guide.

 

  • In the User Profile pop-up window, first select Modify, then change language to English and select Save before closing the window.

What you find in the HR portal

  • The HR portal for employees has three tabs:
    • Employee Self-Service: This is the first page you will see when you log in. Here, you can:
      • Fill in personal data.
      • Register working hours and absences (compensatory time-off, vacation, sick leave).
      • Register travel and expense claims.
      • Review your pay slips and travel- and expense reports.
      • You also have a box for service announcements and a box with your most frequently used items.
    • Inbox: Here you will see your incoming tasks.
    • Service Announcements and Help: Here you can access help pages and any messages about irregularities in the operation of the HR portal.
  • For detailed user guides consult the HR portal user guides for employees overview.
  • Leaders have access to a fourth tab:
    • Manager Self-Service: As a leader, here you can find personnel reports and employee information. You can also register absences, working hours and travel expense claims on behalf of employees at your unit. After logging in on the HR portal you come directly to the Employee Self-Service window.
