Ready for new innovation meeting place for academia and industry within life sciences
The Life Science Growth House and business clusters kick off innovation hangouts where researchers, students and businesses can build networks. In this way, we will facilitate collaboration that puts more research from UiO to use for the benefit of patients and society.
The new innovation unit for life sciences, health and technology, the Life Science Growth House, will contribute to a stronger innovation culture at the University of Oslo (UiO) and will contribute to more knowledge from research being put to use. A new meeting place for academia and industry is part of this work.
Inspiration, self-confidence, knowledge, networking, and collaboration
At the meeting place, researchers and students at UiO will meet employees from the public sector, hospitals, businesses, business clusters and incubators in the innovation ecosystem for life sciences. The goal is to inspire; give them self-confidence and knowledge of innovation processes, help them build networks and facilitate collaboration between academia and industry.
Business clusters are partners
The meeting places are held in English and have been named innovation hangouts. The plan is to arrange innovation hangouts in Oslo Science Park four times a year. At each event, there will be an inspirational talk, a role model talk and matchmaking between academia and businesses.
In 2022, the business clusters Oslo Cancer Cluster, The Life Science Cluster and Norway Health Tech as well as the Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry in Norway (LMI) are co-organisers:
- Sign up for innovation hangout # 1 that we organise together with Oslo Cancer Cluster 21 April.
Topic: Tomorrow's treatment – advancing innovations from academia to industry in cancer and beyond.
- Save 9 June for innovation hangout # 2 that we organise together with LMI.
- In the autumn 2022, we will organise innovation hangout # 3 in collaboration with The Life Science Cluster and innovation hangout # 4 in collaboration with Norway Health Tech.
