In 2017 we have given financial support to enhance internationalisation.

Academic employees, post docs and PhD students at UiO can apply for support to strengthen the collaboration with international research environments.

The application deadlines are 1 June and 1 December annually.

One of those who received funding this year was PhD Rakibul Islam, Post-doctoral Fellow, Complement Research Group, Department of Immunology, Oslo University Hospital/University of Oslo. He stayed at the laboratory of one of his collaborators in the US for one week. Here is how he sums up the stay with his own words: "It was a really stimulating research stay over there. I have learned techniques regarding polymer based self-assembled nanomaterial preparation. We brainstormed several ideas and crystalized those ideas to some action plans to proceed further with the project. So, my next step is to make the nanomaterial protocol working in our lab in Oslo and do an interaction study with the complement proteins in vitro according to the original plan. Thanks for funding this project with internationalization support grant. We are very excited since we believe that this will lead to a bigger innovative project!”.
