VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure) is technology which gives the users access to a virtual computer with the software and processing power they need.
This computer can be used in the same way you use your local computer, but can be reached from different devices and operating systems.
UiO provides VDIs for:
- research: extra processing power, special software, graphics and video work
- education: class sets with permanent software and storage setup
- computer labs: virtual computer labs
NB! Not all environments at UiO is a part of the VDI project.
