Help

You can access UiO Program kiosk using the VMWare Horizon Client or trough the web browser (HTML5). Using the client is recommended but the web browser version is a nice backup if you can't install the client or just need to do a quick job.

Installing the VMWare Horizon Client

If you are using a Windows or MacOSX computer supplied/managed by UiO should be installed already. For MacOSX the package is installed centrally, but for Windows this is controlled by your local IT staff.

Windows

For computers managed by UiO you can install the client using "Software Center". For unmanaged/private computers download and install the client from VMWare. After installing the client you can start the service by pressing the "Log on the UiO Program kiosk" button on the right hand side. You can also start VMWare Horizon Client manually and direct it to use "view.uio.no" as server.

MacOSX

For computers managed by UiO the client should already be installed. For unmanaged/private computers download and install the client from VMWare. After installing the client you can start the service by pressing the "Log on the UiO Program kiosk" button on the right hand side. You can also start VMWare Horizon Client manually and direct it to use "view.uio.no" as server.

Linux

We have an order in for a RPM for RedHat Linux machines managed by UiO. Until that is complete you can download and install the client from VMWare. After installing the client you can start the service by pressing the "Log on the UiO Program kiosk" button on the right hand side. You can also start VMWare Horizon Client manually and direct it to use "view.uio.no" as server.

Tips for using the VMWare Horizon Client

Logging on
