eduroam (educational roaming) is an international collaboration between educational institutions from around the world.
eduroam allows students, researchers and staff to log in to wireless zones at other educational institutions. In practice you'll get online access to all eduroam zones by using your username and password from the university you belong to.
UiO users on other eduroam networks
You should be able to use the same eduroam profile that you use on UiO's wireless network in all other eduroam zones. If you have problems you may want to check the relevant institution's web pages for configuration instructions. An overview of institutions that support eduroam can be found on www.eduroam.org. To log on other eduroam institutions' networks you must enter your UiO username in the form firstname.lastname@example.org.
eduroam guests on the UiO wireless network
By accessing the eduroam wireless network at UiO, visitors from institutions that support eduroam can connect to the Internet. All visitors are reminded to log in with their own username and password from their home institution. The username must be written in the form email@example.com.
Further information about eduroam as well as an overview of the institutions that support it, can be found at www.eduroam.org.
