Print from Linux on printer without a card reader

If you have a computer with Linux and are going to print on a printer without card reader, you need to know if the printer is on the new system or the old.

If you have not been informed that the printer is on the new system, i.e. it is still on the old system, you do not need to do anything. If you have been informed that the printer is on the new system, do the following:

Initial setup

Before you can start using the printer on the new system, even if it does not have a card reader, you need to choose a printer queue:

Print after initial setup is complete

When your computer has the correct settings, you may print. You pick the print on the printer by placing your card on the card reader.

Print from the wireless network?

For Linux, the setup and approach is the same, independent of whether you print from a stationary computer or a laptop.
