Free access to powerful computing server for UiO users

Freebio and bioint01 are resource for all UiO users interested in testing out scientific applications, simulation software, parallel code etc.

These are stand-alone machines for low-threshold use, and with best-effort user support.

 

What is Freebio?

  •  The system is installed with Ubuntu 16.04 and all software in the Ubuntu distro is available for ARM. The processor is from High Silicon, model Hi1616. The system has 64 cores, 256 GiB of memory and 36 TiB of local disk. 

How to use

Freebio and Bioint01 are available to all UiO users and partners that are granted an UiO account.

What is bioint01?

  •  The system is installed with Ubuntu 16.04 and all software in the Ubuntu distro is available for AMD64. The system has 128 cores, 130 GB of memory and 7.3 TB of local disk.
