Director: Andreas Dresen
Germany, 2015
Based on Clemens Meyers novel "Als wir träumten"
Language: German with English subtitles

Only a year ago Dani, Rico, Paul and Mark were subjected to the ideological pressure of being students under the DDR, but they also lived in a protected and predictable environment. After Germany’s reunion it would seem that there are no rules anymore. The group of friends are enjoying the anarchy, wandering through Leipzig at night, driving through the city in stolen cars, getting high, vandalizing and enjoying the new freedom. They establish a disco club which fails due to neo-nazi violence.

Als wir träumten (As We Were Dreaming) is a story about a lost generation that, without being noticed, were victims of the reunion of Germany. Trailer: https://www.kino.de/film/als-wir-traeumten-2015/

There will be a short introduction in English before the film by the Goethe Institute.

You do not have to sign up for this event, but feel free to join our Facebook event and keep in mind that the auditorium has about 450 seats.

The film screening is a collaboration between Knutepunktet - International Student Reception, the Humanities and Social Sciences Library at UiO and Goethe-Institut Norwegen.
