Come and meet all the other new students at this traditional ceremony, which has been taking place since 1923 to mark the beginning of the semester.

If you are an exchange student or a bachelor's degree student, you will go with your buddy group to the Welcome Ceremony.

All students and buddies should meet at the University Square between 2:30pm and 2:45pm.

There will be speeches from student leaders, Rector and the Mayor of Oslo. In addition, the University Choirs will preform traditional Norwegian songs. Amina Sewali is presenting the program, and Fredrik Høyer and Bendik Baksaas will perform their "Freestyle om frykten"(2019).

Water stations will be placed around the Square. Feel free to bring your own bottle.

Please note that the ceremony is held in Norwegian, but will be streamed with English subtitles to a screen next to the stage.
