Why choose this programme option?
From the academic year 2018/2019, the subject areas under petroleum geology and petroleum geophysics have been continued in the programme option Petroleum Geoscience.
For all fields of study, see Geosciences (master's two years).
This broad and interdisciplinary study covers most aspects of petroleum exploration, oil-field development and production.
Geology and geophysics are integrated at various scales, from regional plate tectonics to basin and reservoir scales. Teaching is closely related to research activities at the department, covering a wide range of disciplines such as sedimentology, structural geology, geophysics, petroleum geochemistry, geomechanics, and stratigraphy.
This study is intended for students with a background in geosciences.
