NORHip - the Norwegian hip fracture database - risk factors for hip fractures and post hip fracture mortality

The current project is part of a larger fracture study at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health organized under the project "the Epidemiology of Prescription Drug Use". The fracture studies are lead by project leader, Kristin Holvik (REK: 2009/1521 S-06257 Legemiddelepidemiologi).

Aim: The fracture project has been ongoing since 2009, and so far we have focused on hip fractures, their epidemiology, risk factors and associated mortality.

Research ethics: The Norwegian Institute of Public Health is responsible for the study. The project has been approved by REK, The Norwegian Data Protection Authority, The Norwegian Directorate of Health and data owners. Listed researchers from HELSAM have either direct or remote access to the data at the The Norwegian Institute of Public Health and are listed in the REK-approval for the project.
