Obstetriske fistler: levde erfaringer i Malawi og Gambia

The proposed research project explores the daily lives of women suffering from obstetric fistula. Through their testimonies, we will gain a better understanding of the gravity of the situation, and the psychosocial, economic and cultural contexts in which they live, survive, and cope. The specific objectives are to: shed more understanding on the difficulties faced by women living with obstetric fistula; explore the dimensions of stigma experienced by women living with obstetric fistula in Malawi;identify plausible short-term and long-term recommendations on salient policy interventions directed at mitigating the consequences that many obstetric fistula suffers face;understand some issues of the quality of emergency obstetric care received.
