What is Drug Resistant Tuberculosis? A Qualitative Study on Knowledge and Perception on origins, mechanisms and control held by health workers in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
This qualitative masters degree project will assess health workers’ knowledge about the origins, mechanisms and control of drug-resistant TB in Ethiopia. To address this gap, this study aims to contribute to a better understanding regarding the importance of health workers’ knowledge and experience for better drug-resistant TB control strategies. Questions are: From where do health workers acquire information about drug-resistant TB? What are the important factors, from health workers perspective, affecting the control of drug-resistant TB? What do health workers think about the relationship between drug-resistant TB and broader social, cultural and political aspects? What do health workers know about the history of drug resistant TB
